Turmeric & Greek yogurt Calming Mask

 
 

Skin has never been an issue for me, I have always had clear blemish free skin until 4 months ago. It was almost over night I went from beautiful clear skin to acne covered face caused by stress. Red inflamed pimply skin is never pretty and can be extremely embarrassing, there is only so much make up can hide so I went looking for some natural treatments to help calm my acne. I came across a young Indian lady on YouTube who had a recipe that I have fallen in love with.   

Turmeric & Greek yogurt calming  mask. Turmeric is used a lot in India as a cooking spice as well as a traditional beauty product. Turmeric has natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which is great not just for acne prone skin as it helps kill all those nasty bacteria's that cause acne but for ageing, sensitive, pigmentation, dry and just about every other type of skin out there. Greek yogurt contains lactic-acid and enzymes that naturally cleanses and repairs skin cells.

So it just makes sense to use Turmeric and Greek yogurt together, they are a match made in kitchen beauty heaven.

This mask is wonderful because it can double as a exfoliant  as well. After making your mask cleanse your face twice to really make sure you have no makeup or dirt on your skin to get in the way of letting the mask penetrate into your skin. Spread mask all over your face, neck and you can bring it down to your décolletage (upper chest) if you like, Be careful to avoid your eyes and mouth (it might be natural but it tastes nasty). Leave the mask on your 15 - 20 mins to let it dry and really get in your skin and do its thing.

If you would like to use it as a exfoliator as well before you wash it off just wet your face until mask is damp again and massage around face in little circular motions for a couple of minutes then rinse, tone and moisturise.
Turmeric is great for an exfoliant as it has a gentle grainy texture when mixed with the Greek yogurt so its not harsh on delicate sensitive skin.                
You will need :
  • Turmeric
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Tiny mixing bowl
  • tablespoon
  • Brush
How to :
 
Mix 1/2 Tblsp of Turmeric with 1 1/2 Tblsp of Greek yogurt.
Yep its just that easy... This will be more than enough to do your face and neck. I always like to make a tad extra so I can bring it down onto my décolletage (upper chest)
